Missionary Monday

A Day in the Life of a Missionary Wife...

This is a typical Monday for me, not every Monday goes like this, but I do my best.

7:30am - Wake and do Bible Study (I'm currently working on To Live is Christ devotional with a friend, and also a study on the book of Philippians.)

8:00-8:30 - Get dressed, clean room.  Kids wake up, get dressed and have breakfast.  I try to get my first load of laundry started.  Mondays are laundry day.  I normally have 3-4 loads of laundry.  (Tuesdays I wash sheets and towels.)  We don't have a dryer so if its raining, this gets moved to the next sunny day.

9:30 - School starts

9:30-12:00pm - School continues with a snack break somewhere in the middle.  I get my second load of laundry started and hang the first load.  Cody has a preschool curriculum that I'm working on with him, and when I can I include him on Autumn's work.  Monday and Wednesday we do History.  Tuesday and Thursday we do Science.  Science days we typically have an experiment. 

12:00-1:00 - Lunch Break.  I try to use this time to post on my blogs.  Also, hang my second load of laundry, and start the third.  Today I took a little nap.

1:00 - Back to school for Autumn.  I normally send Cody outside to play or to his room to play, so I can do some one-on-one school work with Autumn.  Cody loves sidewalk chalk.

 2:00-4:00 - I try to get the house cleaned up before my husband gets home.  Mondays consist of cleaning up from the weekend so I can really clean the rest of the week!  We had a lot of company this weekend, plus Sunday was busy, as always, so there are lots of little things out of place that need straightened up!  Hopefully by this time all the laundry is dry, and it can be folded and put away.  A few weeks ago this guy was watching me hang my clothing.  I kept a close eye on him, too.

5:00 - Supper.  Tonight we're just having leftovers.  Depending on my husband's schedule, we are normally home on Monday evenings.  It's a nice time to rest up from Sunday. 

5:30-6:00 - Clean up from supper.  Clean up kitchen and start the dishwasher.  Plan out next day's menu.

6:00-9:00 - Maybe watch a movie with the kids, tonight I'll be working on my May menu and making a grocery list.

9:30 - I read to Cody and Patrick reads to Autumn.

10:00 (or sooner) - Lights out for kids.

10:00-midnight - This is time I get to spend with my husband.  Sometimes we watch tv, sometimes he works on sermon prep, sometimes we read, sometimes we waste time online.  We try to get to bed by midnight.

So, that's my typical Monday.  Hope I didn't bore you too much!
