As many of you, I found Pinterest and fell in love. So many ideas, so many creative people, so little time! I have a button on the side where you can follow me on Pinterest, if you're into that kind of thing.
A friend here in Australia went to visit his girlfriend in the states. I asked him to bring me some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. And he did. And we're friends for life...well, until the bag was empty (just kidding, I'm not that vain!). I decided to make my own and I found lots of recipes on Pinterest for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Everyone said they tasted just like them. Only problem, I can't get Reese's Peanut Butter here and I can't get Hershey's Chocolate here. Sad, I know.
They sell Cadbury here, and even though people here say its better than Hershey's. They are wrong. Nothing beats Hershey's. Anyway, I followed this recipe here that I found on pinterest. Now my pb balls are not all symmetrical (is that spelled right?), and the chocolate was everywhere, but they were delicious. I think if I had Reese's Peanut Butter and Hershey's Chocolate, it could be very close to a Reese's Peanut Butter Egg.
I keep them in the freezer, otherwise they would quickly melt here. It's nice every once in awhile to just go get a yummy chocolate covered peanut butter egg/ball/thingy and enjoy. If you're wondering why I just don't go to the store and buy a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, this is why...
Yes, $3.50 for 2 peanut butter cups.

Oh, yuk to the Hershey chocolate (the only thing it's good for is Smores) and yuk to the Reese's PB, but I think they would be wonderful with dark chocolate and natural PB. I am inspired! Looks like you are adapting very well to your new home country, so exciting.
