Autumn and Nikki (her American Girl doll)
I even got a Sunday Nap which doesn't happen often. (We were at a church awhile back that had S.A.I.N.T. in their bulliten - Sunday Afternoon Is Nap Time. Thought that was cute.) Anyway, the main reason for this post is to let you all know Autumn took communion tonight for the first time. I was thrilled when I realized it was Easter Sunday. What a great memory!
Just a note on communion...we do not believe taking communion gets us to Heaven. Autumn received Christ as her personal Savior on January 28, 2009. That decision - trusting Christ as your Savior - gets us to Heaven! Its really that simple. Concerning the Lord's Supper (Communion) - the cracker is a symbol of Christ's body that was broken for us and the blood is a symbol of His precious blood that was shed for our sins.
"For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he comes." II Corinthians 11:23-26
I hope you all had a blessed Easter and remember the real reason we celebrate it...Christ died for our sins, was buried, and ROSE AGAIN three days later - for you and me! Praise the Lord I serve a risen Savior!
