Back to School Trip - Kakadu National Park

Each year before we begin a new school year we like to take the kids on a trip.  Most times it's just a trip to Darwin, but this year we decided to go to Kakadu National Park.  Patrick has been here a few times, but this was our first as a family.

We have had a proper wet season, so many things were closed,
but we had a wonderful time regardless.

I love the beautiful skies the wet season brings us.

Jabiru is a town in Kakdu,
and where we stayed.

This is the hotel where we stayed.
(Photo from google images.)

The foot of the crocodile was the stairway.

The kids were quite happy to each have their own bed.

The hotel had a wonderful restaurant.

My dinner.

Cody loved the breakfast buffet.

I need one of these for home!

Cody loves bird watching,
so he was quite excited to find some new birds to add to his list.

We walked a few different trails,
where we found some cool rock paintings.

 Cody found this cool spiderweb.

Witchety grub anyone?

A beautiful overlook after a very steep hike.

The gorgeous wetlands.

A family photo from my iPhone on a timer!

We had a wonderful time in Kakadu and hope to go back during the dry season and explore a bit more.
