"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."
noun 1. a building for public Christian worship. 2. public worship of God or a religious service. 3. the part of the whole Christian body.
Church. My favorite definition is #3: the part of the whole Christian body. I love my church, I love my church family. On Sunday our service was over at 12:15pm, we didn't leave until 2pm. This happens almost every Sunday morning. Sunday evenings are the same. The people love to fellowship!
We do not have an actual church building, for now the Lord has provided us with a room at the Charles Darwin University. We were meeting in one of the classrooms, but the Lord has given us this beautiful lecture theatre (as they call it). We had to use this room a few weeks ago because our normal classroom was being used by another group. Everyone agreed that they preferred the lecture theatre, one even said, "it's more churchy". So we made some calls, and now use this room. It even has a little kitchen in it for our morning tea. God is good!
On Sunday we had 21 people. This is about average for us, but we're expecting great things from God. (A new family of 6 recently started attending!)
"Expect great things from God.
Attempt great things for God."
Our people are burdened for the lost around them. We have lots of outreaches that are currently going on and many that are being planned. I can't wait to see what God is going to do here at Gateway Baptist Church. Isn't it exciting to serve our great God?! He is awesome!
