Today is a day that has been set aside to thank all those men and women who have served our great country in ways that we can't even imagine, so that we can live in a free country. Many of these men and women have left everything, so we might be free...what a great illustration to show what our Father did for us...He left Heaven's glory and came to earth to die for us, so that we might be free from sin.
This past week we got news that my brother will be deployed next June. What a scary thought! But I serve an amazing God, and I will trust Him to keep my little brother safe.
I'm starting to learn the obvious...that my fretting and worrying will not change anything. It still amazes me that when I pray, "Dear God", my God listens. He loves my brother more than I ever could, and He will protect Him.
Yet it is so easy to dwell on the negative, but I am going to do my best to dwell on the positive, and be thankful for his willingness to serve. If you see a serviceman or woman today, thank them. We truly are blessed.
