Peace

Waiting is so hard. In today's society people don't like to wait. We don't like to wait in traffic, at red lights, doctor's offices, or even the drive-thru. Yet, waiting can be good...I think.

This morning I was forced to wake up early (I started watching a little girl Autumn's age two days a week, and she gets to my house around 7am, yuk!). Normally, I do my Bible reading at night. I am a night owl, so it's so much easier to do it at night. This morning I had sometime before Ellie arrived, so I spent some time in prayer. I really needed it. It's funny how we (I) can go through our day, and say quick prayers here and there, but don't really talk to God.

This morning in my prayers, I talked to God about our visas. I've done this a lot this summer. Asking God why we're waiting, asking Him if we're supposed to be doing something that we're not, asking Him if we've done something wrong, begging Him for patience. Today I asked the same questions, but I also asked for some encouragement and peace. We want God's will, we want His timing. I do not want to get ahead of God, nor do I want to lag behind Him.

After my prayer time, I began reading in Isaiah (I'm reading the Bible through this year, so this is where I'm at right now). And wouldn't you know God answered my prayer for encouragement and peace. He showed me these verses: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4

Awhile back I posted "Sit still" from Exodus 14:13. God reminded me of it again today in Isaiah 30:7 - "Sit still". My foot notes say, "Man's extremities are God's opportunities".

God also showed me this verse - Isaiah 30:18 "...blessed are all they that wait for him."

I have no idea why our visas are taking so long. I don't understand why we're not in Australia yet. But I do KNOW that God is in control, and He has a purpose for everything, and in His perfect timing the doors will open for us. Until then, I simply pray that I will be doing what I'm supposed to be doing, and that I won't allow Satan to discourage me.

Amber posted this and it was an encouragement to me. I think it fit very well with what the Lord showed me this morning.

Prayer is such an awesome thing. Just to think that we have the privilege to come before the throne of God and talk to the Creator of the universe. Will you please pray for our visas today? Will you please pray for God's will to be done, for His perfect time, and for patience as we wait.

Thank you.

Praying for you today! :) I totally understand the waiting room of life... it can be so hard!

I am still trying to get the district manager of Thirty-One to figure out what's going on with your purse. I feel so bad about it!!! I'll let you know as soon as I get it fixed.
