Missions Aviation Fair

Yesterday we had the privilege of going to a Missions Aviation Fair. My husband was talking to a friend on the computer Saturday night and mentioned it, so it was all spur of the moment to go, but I am so glad we did.

As most of you know I recently read Jungle Pilot and just finished End of the Spear (I can now watch the movie). One big thing that perked my interest in going to the show was that Steve Saint (Nate's son) was possibly going to be there.

We didn't get to the show until 3pm. Steve Saint was doing a talk from 2:15-3:00...of course. I was a bit disappointed that we missed it, but pleased to still find him and have him sign my book. So, I'm still a bit excited that I met Nate Saint's son!!

Here are a few pictures from our day...
One really neat thing about this picture (below) is this is a version of the Piper Cub that Nate Saint flew, and Steve Saint is flying it. He did a presentation of the gift drop by parachute, and then did a presentation of the bucket drop. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you should really read the books!!!
If you'll remember from here this is the radio control plane my husband bought.
Here is a close-up to show how they do the bucket drop.
Proof I at least saw Steve Saint...
This is a plane that the Waundani (Aucas) built in Ecuador.
Autumn got to sit in a plane...
Cody, too...
The beautiful sky the Lord gave us while we were there...
And lastly the view on the way home...
It was such a fun day. On Thursday my husband is turning 30, and for this big occasion we will be going for him to take his first pilot's lesson. We get 30 minutes in the air, and while up there he will be given some instructions and be able to fly for a bit! We're both really looking forward to it (yes, everyone, I finally broke down and told him!).

I'm very excited for you that you got to meet Steve Saint. I also met him in Florida at a concert, but I also got to meet the Auca (Sp)? Indian that killed Nate. It was amazing to meet him and hear his testimony. Unfortunatly I don't have a picture.
