6 months ago (23 November) we landed in Darwin Australia.  How quickly these months have flown.  God has been so good to us.  Here is a little review and update...
  • 14 December we moved into our house.  We initially signed a six month lease, our lease will soon come up and because we couldn't find a better deal anywhere else (our rent is $460 a week!), we signed for another six months.
  • 1 June the pastor of Gateway Baptist Church is going back to America for a 13 month furlough.  During that time Patrick will take over as pastor.  I expect life to get very busy soon!
  • Autumn started grade 4 in January.  The school year round here in Australia.  We are in week 16.  After 20 weeks the schools take a four week break...I can't wait.
  • We joined a homeschool group and have done a few field trips with them as well as meet up at other homeschooling families at their house or at the park.  This Friday we are going to tour our local news station and see the evening broadcast live!
  • We travel 1-2 times a month to Katherine.  A little outback town about 300km (approximately 180 miles) away from where we live.  There is a family on deputation in the states that are planning to come here and start a church, so until that time we are helping out by going down and Patrick having a Bible study and I do a class for the children.
  • Our home seems to have a revolving door lately, and I wouldn't have it any other way!  We've been having people stay in our home almost every week for the past month or so.
  • I've been able to get back to scrapbooking.  I found a lady who lives nearby and sells Creative Memories.  This has been a good way to share with people why we are here and invite them to church.  This Saturday I am going to an all-day scrapbook event.  Should be fun!
  • We've made many friends.  I am so blessed with the friendships the Lord has given us here not only in our church, but in the community as well.
Please pray for us as my husband officially becomes pastor.  We pray that our life will be a testimony to those around us and lives will be changed for His {God's} honor and glory.
