Prayer Request

John and Wanda Casias

Yesterday on facebook, a friend asked for prayer for a missionary family in Mexico that had been murdered.  You can see their website here and read a news article about the death here.  My heart aches for their family, not for them, as they are in Glory.  They had ten adult children (so I've read).  I did not know them, but they're a fellow brother and sister in the Lord.  Would you please pray for the Lord to comfort thier family?

Yesterday in my devotions I read about the stoning of Stephen, my devotional book had me read I Peter 4:12-14.  I thought it was quite fitting.

"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
as though some strange thing happened unto you:
but rejoice, in as much as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings;
that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye;
for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you:
on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified."
I Peter 4:12-14

How absolutely tragic! We have missionary family in Monterrey, (and my hubby was born there) so this hits very close to home. I just wrote our family to ask if they have heard about this. Monterrey is a very large city, but it is possible they knew each other since they were Baptist missionaries as well.

We prayed for their children and grandchildren today. Thank you for posting and passing this news along.
