MULTIPLE BLES8INGS by Jon & Kate Gosselin

I recently mentioned that I got Jon & Kate's new book for CHRISTmas. First of all, let me tell you, I am a huge fan of the show Jon & Kate plus 8. Therefore it won't surprise you that I loved the book. If you have seen the show and heard Kate talking, you will feel as you are reading the book that she is talking to you. She writes as she talks...does that make sense?! The book starts with how they met, then about Mady and Cara's birth, then the sextuplets birth, and their first year or so of life. It ends with them moving into their current home.

One reason I liked the book is because of familiarity. Not that I've had twins or sexuplets, but that my daughter was born in the Reading hospital, like their twins, and that we lived in Reading near where they first lived. So, it was neat reading her talk of different places and knowing where they were.

Another reason I liked the book is beacuase she talks a lot about her relationship with God. At one point in the book she mentions how she would question God about how could they do this, or what if this, and so on. Then one day when she said "but God" she attached a new eding to that thought "but God...is in control". She talks about how God has met all their needs and many of their wants before she even had time to pray for them. What a great testimony of our great God!

She also talks a lot about letting God have control. You may notice she is a control freak, she likes to have a plan, but obviously sextuplets weren't in her plan. She had to learn to let people help her and ultimately allow God to have control. This is an area I struggle with as well. I want things to be done in my schedule and my timing (ie Australia), but as Isaiah 55:8-9 says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

If you like the show you will like the book. If you are hesitant about the show, you will get a better understanding of why she is the way she is. I know there are many people that don't like Kate for one reason or another, but come on people, she has 8 kids! You need to be organized and picky about some things! Also, if you don't like the show, Kate, Jon, or them putting their kids on tv..."if you can't say something nice...don't say nothing at all!" ~Thumper

If you have the extra cash go buy the book, if you don't have the money get it from your local library. It really is a good read and an encouraging one, too.
