Thanksgiving Morning in the ER

Happy Thanksgiving!
So, here's our ER story in a nutshell. Around 1:30 this morning, my little man woke up coughing and crying. He's had a runny/stuffy nose for a day or two. But when he woke up he sounded awful. He wasn't breathing right, it seemed like he was trying to breathe through his nose, which was stuffed. I got him out of bed, and he was shivering, as well. Patrick and I watched him for a little while and decided to call the doctor. The doctor could hear his breathing through the phone, and told us to just bring him into the ER, they might need to do an x-ray and some blood work. Should a doctor really tell a mamma that at 2am? Just say "bring him in so I can check him out".

We got to the ER and they checked him out. Note this didn't happen in a few minutes, I felt like we were in there FOREVER. I'm pretty sure we were the only ones there, too. Of course by the time we were in the room at the ER, Cody seemed to be doing much better. Basically, after seeing a nice nurse and a cranky doctor, we were told Cody has the croup. I always thought the croup was something rough for babies. He seems to be doing okay, its after 11am and he's still sleeping.

For this Thanksgiving Day I am thankful for 2 healthy children (besides the croup), a good husband who's willing to go to the ER in the middle of the night with his paranoid wife, a warm home, my new laptop coming soon, and 2 Thanksgiving dinners waiting for me today!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving Day!

My Noah was in the ER early Thanksgiving morning too. He ended up being fine too, but it was a memorable and tiring Thanksgiving.

Leave it to a little man to get to the ER at a young age!

Both of my boys have now had an ER experience! :)

I hope he feels better soon and that you get some rest!

Poor kiddo!
(and mom!)
I'm glad it's "just" the croup and hopefully he's feeling better by now!
